If your computer freezes again and again, you need to fix it as soon as possible before it starts to damage your operating system. Okay, I’m here to help you. I can remember that sometimes my computer just freezes and I had to restart it. I lost lot of my important documents and I was totally disappointed with my computer. I have so many horrible experiences with it. So I started to research about this problem. I discussed with my friends and shared our stories with each other. Also I read many articles written by various computer technicians and Microsoft tech engineers (at Microsoft TechNet Forum) all around the world. After watching loads of YouTube videos and asking questions in so many technology forums, what I learned finally was the problem was coming from my Windows registry. Before learning about this Windows registry and taking some immediate action against the problem, you need to have some basic understanding about the situation. What’s really causing your computer to keep freezing? What are the most appropriate solutions and how effective they are? So you can easily fix these annoying computer freezes without having unnecessary and unpredictable results on your PC.

The very first thing you can guess is your computer keeps freezing as a way of letting you know that something isn’t right, and it needs to be fixed before something else goes wrong. In other words, it’s like a windows warning message without having an OK or CANCEL button. Most people think they have done something wrong when their computer freezes for the first time. I’ve felt the same thing. But in most cases, the problem is not related to user activities. That’s why we need to have some understanding about the actual problem before fixing it. There can be whole bunch of reasons for your computer to keep hanging; they are too long to list here. So I prepared an easy to follow checklist of some common causes and solutions. Let’s take a look.

5 Common Causes For Computer Freezes

1. Having a damaged hard disk drive.

Most of hard drives eventually become malfunctioning for various software and hardware problems. If you hear some scratching noise out of the hard drive when you’re trying to access your files or folders, disk motor has a problem. So you need to replace your hard drive. Don’t worry. There are various data recovery softwares out there. So, you’ll never lose your existing data.

2. Not Enough Memory (RAM)

For a smooth performance of your computer, you PC need to have all those minimum system requirements mentioned in your OS. If you are working with Windows XP, you need to have at least 512MB of ram. For Windows Vista and Windows 7, it’s 1GB. If your system doesn’t meet these requirements, you need to consider about a memory upgrade.

3. Incompatible Hardware and Drivers

If your computer started to freeze right after installing any program or connecting some external device, then it may be the problem. First try removing that program or device from computer. If you are still having the problem, you need to clean and compact your computer’s system registry. Keep reading!

4. Corrupted System Registry

Ok. So you need to clean and fix your pc registry…

Absolutely what is Windows Registry?

Basically, registry is a database that your computer uses to save all of its settings such as hardware and software configurations, your installed programs, your preferences, files you created, deleted and modified, downloads you made, etc. In short, everything you do on your computer is stored in its Registry and it creates an awful lot of junk. This causes your system to perform slower and finally it starts to make very ugly blue screen errors. So before the situation going that much bad, we can prevent it by fixing junk registry entries. Here is some screenshot of junk registry values created with Adobe Air. After installing Adobe Air, registry still saves its data. These kinds of things happen every time you are working with programs.

Many companies spread Spyware and Adware programs on internet to collect user information such as your favorite websites, most searched keywords etc. for their marketing campaigns. They don’t even ask you before installing those programs on your computer. So after flooding your computer with these adwares, it is starting to freeze so badly. The only thing you can do in this case is to scan your computer with a trusted spyware cleaner. Take a look at following spyware cleaner.
